I looked into registration, and it asked me what species of otters I work with. Sadly, I do not work with otters. Would it be inappropriate for me to attend, even virtually, without working with otters?

Don't know if "work with" needs to be taken so strictly, it can be anything. Even something simple like small personal projects. Basically I don't see a need to gatekeep especially if you're there to see and learn

I clicked other and wrote that I write for a website, since that's what I do. Not sure if I want to share the website here yet though.
I'm so looking forward to meeting you guys and learning stuff at the congress.

By the way, I work on a website about mustelids together with other mustelid enthusiasts. I'm mostly focussed on the otter page but I may branch out a bit, so I could also cover some polecat species in the future.
